LiUNA Local 900 has a profound appreciation for the members who built this great Local. They created the under-pinning for the current terms & conditions our todays Collective Agreements. Our Retirees and the workers who came before us fought and lobbied, faced job loss and unsafe work conditions to ensure non-discriminatory, fair wages and safer work conditions for future workers.
Retirees Role today?
Although Local 900 Retirees are no longer in the workforce, they play a vital role as mentors for existing and future members. Their hard work and determination changed the Labour Movement permanently and now it is our role to educate future working generations and honour the brothers and sisters who have brought us here.
If you are interested in joining our Local’s retiree council, contact us for more information.
The LIUNA National Retiree Council (NRC) is led by retired members from each of LIUNA’s nine regions. The NRC serves as a liaison to existing local Retiree Councils and affiliates. It also works to build coalitions with other organizations that support issues that are important to union retirees.
